Monkey Munch

I saw this recipe on "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" and it looked so good- so I looked it up! I've got to say, I love this snack! I'm sure it's the highest thing you could possibly eat in sugar but, well, that's pretty much just perfect for me. Enjoy!
9 cups Chex Mix
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter into a large microwaveable bowl. Heat on high 1 minute. Stir. Heat in 30 second intervals until completely melted, stirring after each 30 seconds. Add vanilla, then chex. Stir until all the chex are coated. Put powdered sugar in large ziploc bag. Add chex mixture and shake until covered. Lay flat on cookie sheet until cool and dry. Store in fridge.

Birthdays and Some Laughs

This week was the week of birthdays in my family! Dad was the 14th and Tracy and Grandma's was on the 15th. So Aunt Sherma decided to throw a bash for the whole family. Sherma knows how to throw a party! First, last night, we went to dinner at a restaurant on the river. Here's some pics from that: Then today, we had the party at Aunt Sherma's. Lots of fun with the family! This is a clip of us playing the game of "Pop the balloon with your buns". It's a little fuzzy and you can't see everyone, but watch until the end. It has a little bit of a funny ending.

Up All Night for "Dawn"

If you've never stayed up for an event at midnight, I can say right now, you're missing out! This weekend was the midnight release of "Breaking Dawn", the fourth and final book in the "Twilight" series. I have a bunch of friends that are into this series, so we decided to have a midnight release party (sort of). We made tee shirts to display who we love (Edward...of course!) and met at Maggie Moos for some ice cream. Then, Amanda and I had a little time to cool our heels, so we went to Wal Mart and bummed around (the picture of us flexing our muscles was taken in the restroom-yeah, we really needed to burn some energy). Then we headed over and got our books from borders! We actually got them amazingly quickly (considering that we waited for our "Harry Potter" books for over an hour). I finished the book about 48 hours later. I couldn't stop reading the entire weekend. If you haven't checked these books out, you should!
