1. Trying to carry too many things in your hands, which leads to the cell phone in the mouth, also leads to a broken cell phone.
2. It's better to accept the size that you are and dress accordingly that try and squeeze into something in a size you prefer.
3. Don't put things that say "100% cotton" in the dryer.
4. It's okay to know you're right but stay silent anyway.
5. People don't have to deserve love for you to give it.
6. Traveling is the best way to see the world.
7. I need eight hours. Any less-it's not pretty.
8. Animals have rights, too.

Sorry Romeo.....

I used to be in LOVE with Romeo and Juliet. When I was fifteen, Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio were iconic for me, and there was no way to trump that as my favorite Shakespere movie. (I think anyone who knew me at that time will remember the six-foot long poster gracing my wall). But sadly, times change, and so do people's tastes. I have a replacement. It's actually been my favorite for some time, but I watched it again yesterday and I thought I'd share my opinion. Shakespere was a great writer (I'd hate to argue with historians and and literary scholars alike), however, I think the wit and humor, mixed in with a little drama that unfolds in this movie is absolutely brilliant. Some of my favorite lines are at the beginning when Beatrice and Bennedick are squaring off:

BEATRICE
I wonder that you will still be talking, Signior
Benedick: nobody marks you.

BENEDICK
What, my dear Lady Disdain! are you yet living?

BEATRICE
Is it possible disdain should die while she hath
such meet food to feed it as Signior Benedick?
Courtesy itself must convert to disdain, if you come
in her presence.

BENEDICK
Then is courtesy a turncoat. But it is certain I
am loved of all ladies, only you excepted: and I
would I could find in my heart that I had not a hard
heart; for, truly, I love none.

BEATRICE

been troubled with a pernicious suitor. I thank God
and my cold blood, I am of your humour for that: I
had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man
swear he loves me.

God keep your ladyship still in that mind! so some

Scratching could not make it worse, an 'twere such
a face as yours were.

Classic. Absolutely classic. If you've not seen this movie or the play, I would highly recommend it. Sorry Romeo. You've been replaced.

The Cute Hites (y'know, the ones from Arizona)

I got some great pictures from Monique a couple of weeks ago and I've been wanting to post them ever since, so here they are. I photoshopped the one above because I thought it was just such a cute picture of a little girl on her second birthday! I'm going out to see the munchkins in two weeks and four days (shall I give you the hours as well?) Needless to say, I can't wait! The picture of Nicolette with her new dolly is special-Rees picked it out for her without any help. He's the sweetest older brother ever, and she adores him. Here's a few I wanted to share:

BAAAAAAD Day

You'd think I'd catch the hint when I stepped out my door at 6:30 this morning and dropped my red-dyed drink all over myself and my front porch: this is not going to be a good day. I went on my naive way, thinking it was just a little hitch in an otherwise fun-planned day. My client and I had plans to go see the Lion King in New York (really excited to see this show, by the way. I've heard very good things) and so we met up with everyone that was going on the bus trip at our workplace. The busdriver was late-another bad sign. Then he tried to get the lift in functioning order. Every time we'd get one piece of it up and running, the next thing would break down. So, after about an hour of dinking around, we were told that another bus (from an hour away) was on it's way. Frustrated and freezing, we went in to the office to have a bite to eat. They finally said that the new bus was almost here. It wasn't. It was a mechanic instead. After HE dinked around with it for another hour, the lady from our workplace that was coordinating the trip came in and told us that they were going to take off and that another bus would be here in an hour. They had JUST BARELY dispatched the second bus. If we waited for this bus, we would have missed our show. It was so completely bungled that we ended up calling it a day and going home. Through my client's tears, my heart broke. She and one other person with a disability (they are both in wheelchairs) were left behind. I don't understand how this happens in our country in 2008, but happen it did. I had to promise her that I would go up with her either next week or the week after, but that doesn't solve the fact that she's going to have to fight the bus company to get her money back. Let me clarify- EVERYTHING that a person with disabilities does is a fight. Nothing comes easily. I've seen it first hand. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it first hand. So after I went home, I was running errands, got impatient, and passed someone who was turning left, inadvertently hitting a curb and blowing out my tire. Like I said- BAD DAY. Is it almost over??

My One True Love

For some women, it's shoes. For others, it's perfume. And then there are some that enjoy the pedicures and manicures. For me- purses and handbags. I'm sure that just about every woman out there can relate to the euphoric feeling that she gets when she finds THE BEST of her favorite thing. Today was my day. I figured, with all the running here and there and out-of-town jaunts I'm going to be making in the next few months, I'm going to need this. The euphoric feeling lasts only as long as it takes to realize that, whoops, there's the light bill and...hmmm, probably should pay it. But, I gotta say, for now, some pampering is totally called for. Are you with me sistas??!!

Is it a face or.......?

So I was innocently shopping today and I came across this site. I'm not really sure what to make of this eggplant, but...well, I'll just let you decide for youself. What do YOU think it looks like? Personally, I think it's a male eggplant.
